Minnesota

Short day traveling today.  We arrived in Alberta Lea, Minnesota shortly after noon time.  We saw the Mississippi River going between Wisconsin and Minnesota and more wind mills.  The view from our campsite is a cornfield!

Today we toured the Caves of the Mounds, the Capital Building, and the Botanical Gardens.  A busy day but enjoyable.  Off to Minnesota tomorrow!

House on the Rock

What a great day we had exploring the House on the Rock!  This house was designed and built by Alex Jordan as his retreat.  He opened it to the public in 1960.  This man had an amazing talent for design using the natural beauty around him.  All the collectors out there would appreciate his numerous collections which are unique and interestingly displayed.  The Infinity Room is an amazing work of art that took us out over the treetops with a breathtaking view of the valleys around.  He built the house on top of the rock and incorporated the rock into the building. 

We are now in Deforest, Wisconsin, which is outside of Madison. Unfortunately the weather didn't cooperate in Ohio so Dana didn't get to go fishing but we had a great time with Karen and Jim.   We left Ohio this morning and cruised thru Indiana and Illinois before landing here!  Saw lots of corn and soy bean fields.  The corn fields are not looking healthy so the dry summer has definitely affected them.  We are staying here until Wednesday.   Stay tuned for updates and pictures over the next couple of days!

Oak Harbor, Ohio

We arrived at the Fenwick Marina and Campground in Oak Harbor, Ohio today.  Dana was hoping to go fishing on Lake Erie with a charter captain we know but unfortunately today was a rainy day and tomorrow is looking the same.  We are enjoying spending time with Karen and Jim that we met in Fort Myers a few years ago.  We are staying here until Saturday and then off to Wisconsin!

All is well

Happy to report that God answers prayers and it was just a hose that broke on the truck.  It was quickly fixed and we were on the road yesterday afternoon at 2pm.  Arrived in Dexter, NY where  my sister and brother-in-law live.   We are staying at the Black River Bay Campground and spent today with Nina and Stan touring Thousand Islands. It was a great day for a boat ride.  We toured Boldt Castle also.  Had a wonderful time.  It is a beautiful day!  We will head out tomorrow morning with next destination spot Oak Harbor, Ohio.

A glitch on our trip

Left Loudon, NH  this morning at 6:30, traveling on Route 9 outside of Keene and the truck decided to break down.  We think it is the turbo charger but have to wait until tomorrow for the diagnosis.  So, we are back in Pembroke hopefully only  for a couple of days and then we will try again.  The truck and camper are in Keene.  We thank God that this happened close to home so we could be rescued by family.
