Yesterday was a travel day and we landed in Boulder City, Nevada.  Checked out one of the Seven Wonders of the World today.  The Hoover Dam is another amazing example of engineering and hard work done for the good of mankind. This  afternoon we had a severe thunderstorm which dropped 2 inches of rain on the city of Las Vegas in less than an hour.  Las Vegas is in a valley surrounded by mountains so there was serious  flash flooding.   Luckily, we are up high so didn't have to worry about that but weren't able to go to the "strip" tonight as planned.  Maybe tomorrow!

Dana and I are amazed that every time we go to a different National Park the scenery is different!  It is incredible how unique and breath taking each place is!  Yesterday we looked down in deep canyons, today we were in the canyon and looking up thousands of feet in the air!  I cooled my feet in the Virgin River which runs thru this canyon while Dana just relaxed!

What can I say?  More amazing and breath taking views and God's handiwork today!  Marion told me that this was Grampa Chadwick's favorite place and we can understand why!  I am starting to feel sorry for our family and friends who are going to endure looking at our never ending photos and hearing our stories!

We had a great day traveling today!  Old Blue performed beautifully after spending time at the spa yesterday getting new blood (oil change and transmission flush!).  Lots of scenic views so decided to post some.  Stopped here in Panguitch, Utah and off to Bryce Canyon tomorrow.

Today we went into Canyonlands which was another amazing sight! Incredible views of deep canyons and rock formations.   Tomorrow we are on the road again and headed to Bryce Canyon.

WOW!  I think I found my favorite place today!  The Arches is an amazing, awesome, breath taking,  sight to see!  I only hope the pictures can show the beauty that we saw today! Dana wore the wrong colored shirt!  He was hard to find at times!

Yesterday morning we got up in Dubois, Wyoming to 40 degree temps!  We decided it was time to head south!  We traveled over many mountains, down valleys, and around switchbacks you wouldn't believe!  We hit an elevation of 8700 feet and then the downhill trip included 10 switchbacks in 17 miles with a downgrade of 5-8%, mostly 8%!  What a day and we were glad to park it in Vernal, Utah last night.  Up this morning and away we went up  another mountain with an elevation of 9114 feet!  We are now in Moab, Utah and will be here for three days.  Off to the Arches tomorrow and the Canyonlands, getting the oil changed in the truck Thursday and on the road again on Friday!
